Project Description:

To capture a community day for Audible with a focus on immigrant stories and current events as they impact Newark and the world at large. This event led by Newark artist Collaborative was led by Rebecca Jampol, local public arts organizer and co-director of Project for Empty Space. The mural was led by Jans Lundy & Malcolm Rolling of YENDOR, with activations and community conversation hosted by ImVisible. 

Objective:

To photograph an immersive day of speaking and the unveiling of the mural as part of the Newark Artist Collaborative powered by Audible. This large scale installation was crafted by ImVisible, a collective of Newark-based artists who utilize their talent inservice to education and advocacy. 

“Newark is a historic city of resilience and creativity birthed from talent and oppression. Our purpose as a collective is to create safe spaces for the amplification of the intersectional voices and narratives of the immigrant community. Our stories must be told as an act of liberation.”
